Double Duce and the WDH Stories [Cometbus], Cometbus, Aaron
1 Cometbus, Aaron Double Duce and the WDH Stories [Cometbus]
San Francisco Last Gasp 2003 First printing Paperback Good
Sewn wraps, 12.7 by 19.6 cm, 167 pp. Good with light spine creases, edge and corner wear, and a few smudges on the edges of the textblock. No writing, highlighting, names, or other markings. “What Kerouac was to the Beat generation, Aaron Cometbus is to the punk scene in Berkeley, California. In this first novel, his slacker kids ponder life's mundane questions with the seriousness of ancient philosophers: how to get by on no money, where to scam free photocopies, and the finer points of food filching. Through a haze of beer and Top Ramen, they engage in endless debates about the nature of punk rock rage.” We ship our books in boxes or cardboard wraps, never in bags. Bay Leaf Books (Member ABAA, ILAB) is dedicated to offering fine books for discriminating readers. First Edition.

3 Hartwell, Lane; Marsupial Jones, eds. Street Kids, August 1983 [Seattle Zine, Vancouver Squamish Five]
Seattle J T & A, Inc. 1983 Paperback Very Good
Volume 1, Number 5, August 1983. Tabloid format on newsprint, 29 by 40.5 cm then folded, 15 pp., illus. Light yellowing and a 6 cm tear on the fore-edge of the front cover. The most interesting aspect is their coverage of The Vancouver Five (also called the Squamish Five), a group of Canadian “urban guerillas” responsible for several direct actions that ranged from vandalism to a series of bombings of BC Hydro, Litton Industries (who produced guidance components for the American cruise missiles), and a chain of porn shops. This issue includes a full-page update on The Five, as well as ads for a benefit concert and a D.O.A. benefit single. First Edition.
