The Southern Amaranth: A Carefully Selected Collection of Poems Growing out of and in Reference to the Late War [U.S. Civil War, Poetry], Brock, Sallie A., ed.
1 Brock, Sallie A., ed. The Southern Amaranth: A Carefully Selected Collection of Poems Growing out of and in Reference to the Late War [U.S. Civil War, Poetry]
New York George S. Wilcox, Publisher 1869 Hardcover Poor
Green cloth with gilt spine and cover titles, 15.5 by 23 cm, engraved title, 651 pp. Poor with light corner wear, light wear and small splits at the head and tail of the spine, and a few light spots and stains on the boards; the ffep, engraved title page and title page are partially detached, and there is a dampstain that reached up 1-4 cm from the bottom edge of the entire textblock (see images). There is a 1-1.5 cm tear on the bottom edges of 6o leaves near the center of the textblock. Jefferson, NC McFarland and Co., Inc. 2000 Hardcover Near Fine
Dreese, Michael A. The 151st Pennsylvania Volunteers at Gettysburg: Like Ripe Apples in a Storm. Jefferson, NC: McFarland and Co., Inc., 2000. Hardcover, illustrated boards, 22 by 28.5 cm, ix 190 pp., illus. Near fine with only faint signs of shelf wear. “While the Battle of Gettysburg is often remembered for Chamberlain's dramatic defense of Little Round Top, Pickett and Pettigrew's tragic charge, and the stand of the "Iron Brigade," less-remembered units like the 151st Pennsylvania were also crucial in the Civil War's most famous battle. The 151st lost over 72 percent of its men to death, wounds, or capture, the second-highest-percentage loss of all Federal units at the battle. This is the account of that courageous unit and its role in this decisive moment in American history.” (os) First Edition.
