A Little Journey to the Home of Elbert Hubbard - Little Journeys, Hargrave, Arthur
2 Hargrave, Arthur A Little Journey to the Home of Elbert Hubbard - Little Journeys
San Mateo Grove of the Turning Leaves 1974 Limited ed Paperback Near Fine
Hargrave, Arthur. A Little Journey to the Home of Elbert Hubbard. San Mateo County, California: The Grove of the Turning Leaves, 1974, limited edition of 500 copies of which this is number 274 (printed and bound by the Recorder-Sunset Press, San Francisco). Staple-bound, card wraps, 14.9 by 20.6 cm, 18 pp. Near fine with only the faintest signs of shelf wear. Meant to mimic Hubbard’s famous Little Journeys series, it states: “The LITTLE JOURNEYS booklets became an American institution at the turn of the century. They were published by the Roycroft Press in East Aurora, New York. This biography is designed to complete the series and provide a fitting tribute to the unique American who created and produced them.” This was also a keepsake for the 40th anniversary of the “Grove of the Turning Leaves,” and “The Family” who were its members – of which I can find little about. Includes a letter from one member of The Family to his father about the booklet, of which he had contributed to its printing. (eph) First Edition.
