Samuel Farmer Jarvis, DD, no designer, nd (Jarvis lived 1786-1851), 8 by 101 cm, mounted on a collector card. Chip to upper left corner, impressions from erased pencil notes along top edge. Catalog clipping about the plate mounted on the bottom of the collector card. An early American armorial with the shield resting against a pile of books. The mottoes read “Hora é Sempre” and “Sola salus servire Deo.” Jarvis was a Connecticut clergyman and scholar and son of Bishop Abraham Jarvis.
