Purple and patterned cloth with gilt spine titles, belly band, 14.5 by 22.3 cm, 51 pp. plus colophon and 8 pages of publisher adverts. Very good with light rubbing to the lower corner on the rear board; the belly band has sun fading on the edges and spine panel. Roy (1936-2007) was a Bengali writer of poems, short stories, and essays. He is especially known for his satirical sense of humor. The Writers Workshop is a Calcutta-based literary publisher founded by P. Lal in 1958. Over the next few decades it published many new authors of post-independence urban literature, many of these authors later became important. Text is in English.
