Newton, Alfred Edward. Men and Ghosts of Gough Square. Berwyn, Pennsylvania: Oak Knoll (A. Edward Newton), 1930. Blue card wraps with a cord tie, 14.5 by 19.5 cm, 24 pp. Yellowing and light wear to the edges, and what looks to be light silverfish damage in the lower margin of the title page and page 13. Inscribed and signed by Newton on the title page: “This six pence additional is for a good cause. A. Edward Newton,” which, I’m sure, relates to the printing info on the title page : “Printed at the expense of the author. The entire receipts go to the pension fund established by Cecil Harmsworth, Esquire, for the caretakers of the [Samuel] Johnson House in Gough Square.” (eph) First Edition.
