Marbled boards over velum spine with leather and worn gilt spine label, all edges marbled, 13 by 21.5 cm. Rubbing to the boards, edge wear and light foxing here and there. With the engraved bookplate of John Cheesment Severn (Penybont Hall, Radnor) on the front pastedown. A rather disparate pairing of books that lends one to believe the original owner was attempting to hide his political leanings – or just save some money at the bindery. (case)
