New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1931, “this volume is designed by William Dana Orcutt, and is produced in this limited edition of one thousand copies under his personal supervision by the Plimpton Press.” Decorative paper over black cloth spine with gilt spine titles, in original slipcase with paper spine label, 14.4 by 20.4 cm, x 61 pp., illus. by Doris Flather. Book is near fine with a 15 mm tear on the bottom edge of the title page. The slipcase has wear and chipping at the corners, especially the head and tail of the spine panel. A reverential, though whimsical, essay about the human companionship yielded us by our books. We ship our books in boxes or cardboard wraps, never in bags.
