Green cloth with bright gilt spine titles, dust jacket, 14 by 22 cm, 166 pp., illus. The hardcover has only faint signs of shelf wear and a small worn spot on the bottom edge of the front cover. The interior is faintly yellowed with no writing or marks. The dust jacket has light creases and rubbing; there are small edge chips and a larger areas of loss at the head and tail of the spine panel (see images). Aside from having an impressive name, Lt.-Col. A.T. Goldie Gardner, O.B.E., M.C. was a Grand Prix and T.T. champion and set over one hundred land speed records, being best known for setting thirty-seven speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1951 and 1952 in his supercharged MG streamliner EX-135.
