Originally published in 1911, this dictated autobiography relates the life of Bliss, including his apprenticeship to publisher/bookseller J.H. Butler of Northampton, Massachusetts, working at Butler & Williams in Philadelphia, and the establishment of his own publishing and bookselling business in the 1840s.
