Gerber, Dan. Out of Control. Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey: Prentice-Hall, Inc., 1974, first printing. Hardcover with dust jacket, 208 pp. Grey paper over orange cloth spine with black spine titles. Very good with light wear to the hardcover, foxing to the edges of the textblock, and a light musty smell. The jacket has light wear, some edge wear and yellowing, and a couple of tiny tears at the head of the spine panel. Inscribed and signed by Gerber on the half-title page: “This book is for Missy Moe from Frank’s father / Dan Gerber / April 5, 1974” (Missy was his son’s girlfriend). Gerber’s second novel, this had some semi-autobiographical overtones that caused some scandal in his home town of Fremont, Michigan. No writing, highlighting, names, or other marks. The dust jacket is in a fresh mylar cover. We ship our books in boxes or cardboard wraps, never in bags.
