Half-leather, marbled paper over brown leather spine with gilt spine titles, 16.5 by 22.8 cm, 232 pp. plus a one-page index. Heavy rubbing to the boards and corners and some small scratches on the spine. Name stamp of a previous owner, José Maria Tapia (governor of Baja California around 1930), on the leaf preceding the title page and page 61. Leaves are lightly yellowed. Originally bound in stapled wraps, the staple holes can be seen in the gutters. Binding is solid. Text is in Portuguese. Inscribed and signed by the author in 1929 to Colonel José Maria Tapia, “offering this book as a message of hope and encouragement in a time when the counter-revolution wants to kill the work of liberal Mexico [translated].” “Short commentaries on the Mexican Revolution and its consequences,” including the problems of Mexico, religion, non-Mexican Indians, education, agriculture, and petroleum.
