Red cloth with gilt spine and cover titles and black and brown cover decorations, 13 by 19.8 cm, 317 pp. plus 3 pages of publisher ads. Dulled gilt on the spine and a dampstain on the center of the spine (possible from a removed label). There is a small corner stain on pp. 62-65. The decorative front cover looks very good and there is an unnumbered bookplate for The Tabard Inn Library on the front pastedown. “A deserted house with a troubled past, a mysterious countess, and an equally mysterious derelict…” A mystery from this early dystopian author of the Doom of London series.
