Not dated but postmarked Nov. 13, 1950. Card stock with color printing, 24 by 31.6 cm, [4] pp. Light edge wear with some faint corner creases; a single set of staple holes on the second leaf. A wonderful menu from one of the Eitel brother’s Chicago restaurants, the Old Heidelberg on Randolph. Designed to be a souvenir, “just fill in name and address / we mail it for you.” This copy was sent to a gentleman in Grandville, Michigan, with a note inside: “Hi Honey – Just to let you know that I was thinking of you. See you soon – Louise.” The Eitel brother's were a family of German emigrants who ran several Chicago-area restaurants and hotels including the Bismarck Hotel, Marigold Gardens, and the Eitel Field Building Restaurant. The Old Heidelberg opened in 1894.
