An Anthology of Revolutionary Poetry

Price: $70.00

Quantity: 1 available

Book Condition: Very Good +

Hardcover with dust jacket, 6 1/2 by 9 3/4-inches, 353 pp. plus a seven-page title index. Red cloth with black spine and cover titles, faded red top-stain. The book has light corner bumping, minor sun fading to the head of the spine (which corresponds with chips on the jacket), and a couple of drip stains on the top edge of the back cover (does not affect the textblock or endpapers). Light foxing to the endpapers and “Christmas 1934” and previous owner’s name in pen on the ffep. No other marks. The jacket is poor with heavy wear and chipping along the edges and creases, two small holes on the back cover and spine panels, and large areas of loss at the head of the spine (most of the spine titles are gone) and lower corner of the front cover. The front flap is detached, but present. The striking (no pun intended) cover design by Z. Maud remains unscathed. Includes a dedication poem by Carl Sandburg and works by William Blake, Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Ruskin, Thomas Hardy, Thomas Paine, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Siegfried Sassoon, Victor Hugo, Alexander Petöfi, Edgar Lee Masters, et al., including “The Red Flag” by James Connoly, “Anarchist” by William Walston Gordak. “The Rebel” by Hilaire Belloc, “The Girl Strike-Leader” by Florence Kiper Frank, “Revolution” by Genevieve Taggard, etc. The dust jacket is in a fresh mylar cover.

Dust jacket present. First Edition.
