George Olcott, no designer, nd, 8 by 58 cm, used and mounted on a collector card. Very light spotting. A lovely literary plate with a harp-playing cherub flanked by two piles of books, with “667” written in the book number field. Allen notes that the design is “very nearly the same” as the bookplates of Frederick Marsh and George Goodwin, the latter attributed to Amos Doolittle Not having seen the Marsh or Goodwin plates I can’t draw any conclusions.
