A production binder with a small, hand-written label on the spine reading “Boardman Robinson I,” 23.5 by 30.6 cm, 71 leaves. The binder is heavily stained and worn, and the leaves are extremely brittle. The first and last eight leaves are detached, and most of the leaves have excessive chipping, tears and edge wear. George Macbeth [1845-1916), of Pittsburgh, was the first manufacturer of optical glass in the Unites States and exhibited examples at the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago (Jordan pp. 23-25).
